An Efficient Variable Step Solar Maximum Power Point Tracking Algorithm

The classic Photovoltaic system maximum power point tracking technique cannot concurrently take into account the dynamic response speed and steady-state accuracy when light intensity changes. To address this issue, a new composite variable step MPPT control algorithm is developed in study. Based on three-stage incremental conductance method, adds Kalman filtering to pre-process photovoltaic cells output signal, uses calculation approach adjust coefficient. As result, perturbation can be automatically modified according changes external environment, which resolves issues with poor reaction started changed. Compared conventional algorithms, improved strategy easily realized using hardware since it has simplified logic requires less data calculated. In study, circuit of enhanced built ESP32 as primary chip. This chip utilized conjunction Internet Things enable remote monitoring solar system’s operational state. According test results, instantly detect all lighting circumstances up 99.6% reduction time 0.12 s.
